STYLE BOOK

The basic of this assignment was to make a stylebook for a  fictional client. This project started with a different style for every student. The
style could be a historic, ethnic or geophrafic topic, but every student had to carry out intensive research to get to the bottom of this topic. For me that style was old school hip hop. To understand the essence of your style you had to use a variety of sources, such as museums, books, magazines, films, archives etc. The second part of this project was to translate your style into the present, to put it into today’s fashion context. But by keeping the desire of your fictional client in mind. This translation was showed in three themes in your stylebook, made with InDesign. In the end you had a process book full of intensive research and a process showing a translation to the present and your final style book.

This project learned me to work with InDesign. A
programme I never used before, but gave so many
possibilities when creating a lay-out.
Besides that this project taught me to translate a style into today’s fashion world, while keeping your client in mind.
