PROTOTYPE
Creating a fashion prototype, the first sample of a garment, before it goes into production, was my last assignment from semester 1. To establish this prototype we had to make 20 studies on a body by using gathering and pleating techniques and make a technical documentation of this in our process book. During sewing class we learned different stitch techniques, which we could use for our end product. We gained plenty of knowledge about the characteristics of fabrics during our fabric class, which we displayed in a swatch book. At the end we also made a price calculation of our prototype. An assignment with many different aspects.

This project that brought me many new skills. I learned to sew better and learned to recognize a good stitch. This is something that I can use during the rest of my Fashion and Management education. Besides that I got
really enthusiastic about the lectures we got about fabrics. Something I am
eager to know more about in the second semester.
