Triptiek was the most amazing project of semester 3. All AMFI departments came together to create a fashion collection and 3D stand in 2,5 weeks in different groups. The project started with two icons for every group. My group got Marilyn Monroe and Daan Roosegaarde. By doing research on both icons we had to come up with a connection to make an innovative fashion concept. Within our group we had a hard time finding a good coherent concept. But in the end we created MAT MAT. A concept that wanted to make sure people started to appreciate fabrics and their clothes more in this fast paced society. The mission of Material Matters is making people obsessed with what they have and less possessed with what they don’t have. We created three garments by using old clothes, this way we would have zero waste. Our 3D stand was filled with our most precious garments, all with an inspiring story why that particular garment was meaningful to us. By creating this we hoped people would value their clothes more.
With this project I was in charge of the research on Marilyn and Daan, the photo shoot, the concept movie and I helped with creating the concept and 3D stand. It was an experience I will never forget.
